Detroit Flower House

Last October, Milwaukee Flower Company was fortunate enough to be a part of Lisa Waud's Detroit Flower House. For those of you who don't know about The Flower House it was a weekend installation that took place in an abandoned house in Detroit. A select group of florists from the US & Canada were given a room in the abandoned house, their mission was to turn their room into a floral installation - covering the walls and ceilings with american-grown fresh flowers and living plants. There were an estimated 3000+ visitors that weekend. Needless to say Milwaukee Flower Company had the experience of a lifetime, and that is why we wanted to share it with you! Below are some pictures from our adventure in Detroit. For those of you who want more... Flower House project photographer & collaborator Heather Saunders is introducing a new book featuring images & reflections on the breathtaking experience that is The Flower House Detroit! Pre order your book here.

Sally was interviewed for this awesome article about the Detroit Flower House featured in the New York Times: "A Detroit Florist's Vision Turns an Abandoned House Into Art"
